Meet Dr. Michelle Kamel – Your Upper West Side Periodontist
Smiles are her specialty, and healthy gums are her mission! Dr. Michelle Kamel is a board-certified periodontist with advanced training in periodontal and implant dentistry from NYU College of Dentistry, where she also earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors in Periodontics. Dr. Kamel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, representing the highest level of certification in her field.
Dr. Kamel provides a full range of periodontal services, including treatment for gum disease, dental implant placement, gum grafting, crown lengthening (to expose more natural tooth structure), and sinus lifts (to prepare the upper jaw for dental implants). She is also certified in LANAP® and LAPIP® laser technology—minimally invasive alternatives to traditional gum surgery with quicker recovery times and less discomfort.
With a deep commitment to precision, function, and aesthetics, Dr. Kamel tailors every treatment to the individual needs of her patients—always aiming to preserve natural teeth, support long-term oral health, and restore confidence in every smile. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Kamel has made it a priority to give back—providing dental care to underserved communities both locally in New York City and globally in Kathmandu, Nepal.
